New clients: your first visit
We are accepting new dog and cat patients. Here is how the first visit works, start to finish.
Before you come
- Book. Online or call (615) 833-4423. First appointment of the day is 8:15 AM.
- Fill out the new client form. Download and complete it at home, or arrive ten minutes early.
- Gather records. Ask your previous vet to fax or email vaccine history. If you cannot, we will start fresh.
- Bring a stool sample if you can, in a bag, less than 12 hours old. It lets us check for intestinal parasites at the first visit.
At the visit
Plan on thirty to forty minutes. An assistant will take a history and weight, then the doctor does a complete exam and talks through a vaccine and prevention plan for your pet's age and lifestyle. You will get a written estimate for anything that is due before we do it.
Tips for nervous pets
Cats: leave the carrier out at home for a few days with a blanket in it, and cover it with a towel in the car. Dogs: a regular leash, not retractable, and a few treats from home. Skip breakfast in case the doctor wants bloodwork.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service. We take Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, cash, and checks, and we accept CareCredit. More on insurance and payment options.
