Nutrition Counseling in Nashville, TN

Obesity is the most common preventable health problem we see. A few extra pounds on a cat or a small dog puts real strain on joints, heart, and pancreas. We help you pick the right food, the right amount, and a plan you can actually stick to.

What to expect

Nutritional needs change through life. Puppies and kittens, active adults, pregnant or nursing pets, and seniors each need something different, and pets with kidney disease, allergies, urinary issues, or diabetes often need a prescription diet.

At each visit we record weight and body condition so you can see the trend. If it is heading the wrong way, we set a target and a timeline and check in.

We stock prescription diets and can set up home delivery through our online pharmacy and Purina Pro Plan Vet Direct.

Common questions

How do I know if my pet is overweight?

You should be able to feel the ribs without pressing, and see a waist from above. If you are not sure, bring your pet in and we will score body condition for you.

Is grain-free better?

Not for most pets, and some grain-free diets have been linked to heart disease in dogs. Ask us before switching.
